National Pig Day Success
Swine enthusiasts had a squeally good time when they celebrated National Pig Day with us on March 1st.
The festivity began in America in 1972 and is a celebration of this farmyard favourite.
During the day we officially opened Snuffler’s Retreat, a viewing area for our pigs and piglets.
Visitors could get up close and personal with the pigs, there were themed games with the Hobblers, educational talks with pig farmer Dan Munns, face painting and balloon modelling.
Duty manager Sarah Trevillion said: “Pigs are curious and insightful animals and we have 23 of them here at Hobbledown so we were only too keen to mark their special day.”
